ASH environmental management service
ASH has been involved in a number of Design & Build (D&B) and Design, Build, Finance & Operate (DBFO) projects in recent years, concentrating on providing environmental management advice during tender and design periods and also acting as environmental managers on large/major construction schemes. This latter aspect involves the setting up and management of systems compliant with ISO 14001 and revolves around the cyclical process of continual improvement through planning, implementing, checking and review.
ASH environmental management involves advice on delivery on all aspects of the system, ranging from:
- Purpose of the plan and system planning
- Environmental design
- Legal and other requirements
- Settings of targets and monitoring performance
- Setting up of site specific monitor and checking sheets
- Training through all levels, from management to site staff
- Emergency preparedness and corrective action
- Internal audits and reviews of the system and its performance
As a result of the above experience, ASH is now able to offer clients environmental management advice at various stages of the construction process.
ASH environmental management in practice
ASH has provided environmental management expertise for the M6 DBFO extension through southern Scotland for the majority of the construction period, the Falkirk Wheel and more recently for various transmission line projects and the Glendoe Hydro Scheme.
