Environmental Considerations
ASH initially identified the least sensitive zones in visual impact terms. Each of the potential sites were then assessed and a shortlist of preferred options drawn up. Landscape and visual assessment of each of the short-listed sites were then carried out to help identify a preferred option.
ASH carried out landscape and visual assessment to be incorporated into an Environmental Statement for the preferred wastewater treatment works at Craigtown More, a number of proposed pumping stations and the transfer pipeline.
ASH was subsequently commissioned to help 'design out' adverse impacts identified in the Environmental Impact Assessment and to carry out a detailed colour study of the waste water treatment works building to devise suitable colour schemes which will help to integrate it into the landscape. The study was carried out using computer generated photomontages.
