Social Inclusion Partnership Study
The ASH social inclusion partnership study provided an extensive range of baseline data upon which decisions could be made, projects and initiatives proposed and funds and policy pursued.
Through the audit and consultation process the study was able to identify and prioritise environmental improvements. Mechanisms for funding and delivering open space renewal were also put forward which formed key 'next steps' to continue the process which the study had initiated.
A key part of the social inclusion partnership study was the use of GIS (Geographical Information System). The benefits of the GIS were significant as it provided a permanent but flexible digital database enabling the analysis and communication of land based issues. The format is compatible on city council and UK wide systems.
The ASH audit for the social inclusion partnership study looked at:
- Planning and nature conservation designations
- Land use and condition
- Land ownership
