A1 Belfast to Dublin EIA
ASH prepared an initial corridor study followed by an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the three schemes. Within the EIA, ASH covered:
- Landscape character
- Visual impacts
- Landscape mitigation proposals
An Environmental Statement was published for the A1 road widening in 2000 and an Environmental Statement for the two grade separated junctions was published in 2001. ASH prepared exhibition material, brochures and carried out public consultation meetings for the three schemes.
A1 Belfast to Dublin Outcome
A public local inquiry took place for the A1 road widening in October 2001 and for the junction improvements in October 2002. ASH has been retained by DRD Roads Service to develop detailed scheme proposals and contract drawings and to supervise the implementation of the scheme.
